Meet Frau Fiber

Her work stems from three generations of domestic tailors and industrial seamstresses.  She is an itinerate textile worker and activist, who freely distributes her knowledge of apparel production to the masses. She fancies herself to be a competitor with China in the global production of apparel, with the hopes of transforming the value of labor of apparel workers around the globe.  Thus far, she bagan the SEWING REBELLION http://sewingrebellion.blogspot.com, A FREE workshop that has occured in Chicago, Brooklyn, New Orleans, Denver, Lancaster PA, Sheboygan, WI and Los Angeles.  She recruits participants to emancipate themselves from the global garment industry by learning how to alter, mend and make their own garments!  Her intention is to instigate a new way for participants to consider their engagement in the world, their purchasing power or non-purchasing power.

  1. Hello Frau Fiber!
You might be pleased to see my site, I've long advocated quality education with free tutorials on my site (http://www.fashion-incubator.com/tutorials/) as well as encouraging others to adopt these skills for themselves regardless of interest, be it for commercial or pleasure purposes. I've been a pattern maker in the industry for over 25 years and visitors to my site run the gamut of people from stitchers to enthusiasts.
